6K a year 5 days ago 5 days ago 5 days ago ADMA BioCenters is an FDA licensed facility specializing in the collection of human plasma used to make special medications for the treatment and prevention of diseases.
The Plasma Processor is responsible for ensuring the product integrity of the plasma unit and associated samples from the time the unit is collected until the unit is shipped.
The plasma processor follows SOPs to collect the appropriate samples from the unit, visually inspect the unit for acceptability, and records information about the collection and final volume in DMS.
The plasma processor has the primary responsibility of ensuring all products and samples are moved to the appropriate storage units within the proper timeline and ensuring the freezer is organized in a manner that allows for the appropriate segregation of units and quick location of products or samples.
This position has the additional responsibility of packing and staging units for plasma shipments and biohazard waste shipments.
The plasma processor is the primary point of contact for the location of any unit or sample requested for any reason.
This position is the initial point of contact for all deliveries and must contact the proper individuals to notify them of delivery.
Job Functions:
The functions of this position are executed in accordance with center SOPs and include but are not limited to:
Labels sample tubes prior to sampling.
Verifies unit label number matches sample tube label number prior to sampling.
Collects the appropriate samples from the unit according to SOP to ensure sterility is maintained.
Places unit and samples in freezer within 30 minutes of collection.
Completes the entire processing of only one (1) at a time.
Stores units and samples in accordance with SOPs.
Accurately and efficiently completes all unit, sample packing and shipping functions.
Physically arranges cases and samples in the freezer to ensure it remains organized as required at all times.
Perform Quality control of equipment used in the processing and packing areas.
Obtain any back up samples as required for the laboratory or customers.
Reports all unsafe situations or conditions to supervisor.
Maintains an organized and clean work environment.
Adheres to procedures and appropriate regulations.
Pays attention to ail.
Maintains competence with all position required tasks.
Attends scheduled staff training and staff meetings.
All other duties as assigned by management.
Routinely works in a cold environment, -30 C.
High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of 12 months in the health field or a combination of experience and education equivalent to this requirement preferred Available to work extended shifts (we work a Tuesday - Saturday schedule).
Basic computer skills Occupational Exposure to blood borne pathogens Ability to lift, pull, or tug up to 40lbs Work requires extended periods of standing and bending CPR certified or the ability to obtain certification preferred Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include weekends.
