JOB SPECIFICATIONS Education and/or
Experience:
Successful training equivalent to that of a nursing assistant, patient care technician, emergency medical technician, medical assistant, or a current nursing student that has completed training beyond the first term of nursing education.
Proof of the above training must be provided upon hire and annually with review.
Current certification in BLS or completion within one year of hire.
Prior experience in emergency medicine setting preferred.
Equivalent job experience will also be considered.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of scope of practice in a hospital setting according to State regulations.
Knowledge of sterile techniques and special procedures that are applicable to work performed.
Knowledge of sanitation, personal hygiene and basic health and safety precautions applicable to work in a hospital.
Knowledge of infection control procedures and safety precautions in the treatment of patients.
Skills:
Must have organizational skills.
Effective oral and written communication and active listening skills.
Basic computer knowledge.
Exemplary telephone etiquette.
Abilities:
Ability to provide excellent customer service and communicate clearly with a positive manner with patients, families, visitors, health care team, physicians, administrators, leadership and other.
