The Director of Dietary Services is responsible for leading, planning, managing and directing all functions of the Dietary Department in order to not only meet but exceed the goals and objectives of the organization.
Responsibilities and
Essential Functions:
Responsible for the overall leadership, direction and guidance of all aspects of the food delivery system.
Provides and completes all documentation as necessary to ensure continued compliance with all Local, State and Federal regulations.
Demonstrates commitment to the philosophy, mission, core values and goals of the organization and its healthcare system.
This includes the ability to integrate values of justice, respect, compassion, excellence and stewardship into appropriate programs and services.
Previous work record demonstrates personal integrity, veracity and trust.
Demonstrates effective written and oral communication and presentation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with departmental staff members.
Represents the organization and department in both internal and external meetings on matters affecting these areas of responsibility.
Develops, implements, routinely reviews and oversees departmental policy and procedures, forms development, departmental workflow, controls and work standards.
Hires and trains departmental staff and conducts evaluations and makes recommendations for changes.
Minimum
Qualifications:
Advanced degree in the Food Service or Hospitality industry or related field is preferred.
Previous related experience may substitute for this educational requirement.
Must be DMA certified.
Three years of experience in managing a full service food service organization.
Ability to manage and communicate both effectively and efficiently with residents, family members, staff and other related parties to ensure steady work flow function.
Ability to rely on previous experiences and judgment to plan and accomplish the stated goals.
Special skills and Knowledge:
Excellent written and oral skills.
Ability to learn new software application.
Successful team building skills and staff mentoring.
A demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
Good reasoning abilities, sound judgment, resourceful and well organized.
Exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities.
Follows HIPPA guidelines in safe guarding the resident's and staff's protected health information.
Ability to follow applicable TOSHA guidelines and follows all of the organization's safety policy and procedures.
